士嘉堡地鐵延線工程動工 一文看清交通影響及穿梭巴安排

【星島綜合報道】士嘉堡地鐵延展工程今日動工，隧道挖掘機正從Sheppard Avenue 和McCowan Road 向南行駛，預計工程將於2030年完工。

安省交通部部長Caroline Mulroney 的辦公室證實，隧道挖掘機今日駛入Sheppard Avenue 和McCowan Road 向南行駛。負責人員表示，這台挖掘機大約等於三架GO Transit 火車車廂的闊度，每日能挖掘大約10米。整段延伸路段全長7.8公里，需時約兩年多才能完成。

據估計，地鐵延長路段將在2030年開放。新站從Kennedy出發，北上往Lawrence、Scarborough Centre和Sheppard，估計有超過100,000人流通過三個新站。

挖掘機最終會在Eglinton Avenue East 和 Midland Avenue 附近完工。由於挖掘機將從上述位置完工，施工人員正將Eglinton Avenue East 移到目前與Midland Avenue 交匯的北部。除此之外，隨著工程不斷進展，TTC將關閉3號線即Scarborough RT。

TTC的一份報告建議，將來往Kennedy到Ellesmere 站的鐵路部分在2025年改為專用巴士線。巴士將沿著Ellesmere 向東行駛，沿著Brimley Road 向北行駛最後到達士嘉堡市中心。報告同時建議，在Kennedy Road 提供向北行的穿梭巴，在Ellesmere 向東行駛往士嘉堡市中心。南行班次則途經過Midland Avenue，直到工程完成。

與此同時，GO Transit 穿梭巴將被移至Borough Drive ，為TTC穿梭巴騰出額外空間。
