While the U.S. military claims advantages in undersea warfare and space-based technology, key U.S. officials acknowledge China is outpacing the U.S. in the production of submarines, warships, and other combat systems. As the People’s Liberation Army intensifies its military exercises and prepares for a range of potential operations—including island seizures, naval blockades, and full-scale assaults on Taiwan—many Taiwanese citizens are questioning their long-term security.

With these growing concerns, Canada has a crucial opportunity to position itself as a safe haven for Taiwanese immigrants seeking stability. Taiwan already has historical immigration ties to Canada, and strengthening these pathways would benefit both nations. Taiwanese immigrants bring valuable skills, cultural contributions, and economic potential that align with Canada’s long-term interests.
