【阿濃專欄】《我的爺爺》

剛升中讀了一學期的大孫女來電，說因為要做一份功課要問我幾個問題，我說好，你問吧。

她問我童年有甚麼好玩的？我說那年代鄉間沒有甚麼玩具，除了看書，自然界的昆蟲像蟋蟀、蜻蜓成了玩具。

她問我是怎麼認識嫲嫲的？我說是在青少年團體活動中認識的。

她問我做老師教些甚麼？我說中文、數學和美術。

她問我移民面對甚麼挑戰？我說語言、駕駛和園藝。

過了兩天是「家庭日」，全家聚餐後，她的父親即我的兒子拿出了她的功課，原來是一首英文詩，題目是My Grandpa。她寫時還在讀小學的妹妹也給了意見。

大家要求讀出來聽，聽後獲得一致讚美。當然最受感動的是我這個爺爺。其中不乏很甜的話，難得還押了韻。抄部分段落大家欣賞：

He was there , for my birth

He worked hard to take care and feed four children

Two boys and two girls

Then he became a teacher in Hong Kong

Mathematics

And art where he taught his students to pain and drew

Now that he is older

He became an author

He writes story books and writes for the newspaper too

Many challenges and obstacles

He has gone through

He is the kindest and most loving person

Love to give out sweets and chocolate

The most supporting person I know

Is always there for me no matter what

He’s the best grandpa can’t ask for more

I love you grandpa

Forever more.
